Thank you for your Newsday Tuesday. I read the “Staff Picks: When Women were Birds”, and remembered that you had read that book, and also commented to me about the author’s, Mother’s journals. I cannot imagine the loss when she opened her now dead Mother’s journals, and they were blank. That would be devastating! It was an interesting read though, and if I recall, you enjoyed her book.
I also enjoyed the first “Favorite Tweet”. Why can’t we all just be people?
I recently spoke up over the derogatory use of the word Yankee, since I am one, and wondered then, why has that word become such a favorite for bullies, and yet it seems we have words for all kinds of people, true or not. So, when I read the tweet above, it made so much sense to me.
